Saints is a well established church, based in Lyttelton, Centurion, south of Pretoria. Saints Presbyterian Church is a congregation that falls in the bounds of the Presbytery of Tshwane and is part of the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa. We are a predominantly English speaking congregation spanning all age groups. A congregation that emphasizes inter-generational ministry that interacts inclusively with people at all levels. Our Worship Service takes place on a Sunday morning at 09:00 and the Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Saints celebrated it’s 50th Anniversary in October 2014.
The children and youth attend the first part of the Worship service each Sunday and on the last Sunday of every month, our Family Worship Service, they remain in the church for the entire service. The teachers have all attended SANSSA training courses and are dedicated to teaching the children in a vibrant and age-related process.
The Ladies Group meets on the second Saturday afternoon of every month at 14:30 at Saints Presbyterian Church. The group organises some very interesting craft activities and fellowship functions for the Congregation. From money raised by selling cup cakes and muffins the group have equipped the Church kitchen and helped to finance various maintenance projects for the Church buildings.
Saints has an Intercessory Prayer Group who pray with members and non-members in need of prayer after the Worship Service on a Sunday Morning. There are also two Prayer Chains – one for general prayer requests and one for confidential prayers. For any further information please contact the Church Office. Various members have also undertaken to pray at 06:30 every morning for our country. We cry out to the Lord to forgive us our sins, to have mercy on us and to heal our land. “Praise the LORD , all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love towards us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever.” Psalm 117
Members of the Congregation are cared for by our Minister Rev Lentikile Mashoko, the Pastoral Assistant, Celia, and the Elders. Lentikile cares for the entire congregation, and any one else who requests his assistance and Celia, on her own or with Lentilkile, visits the ill, frail and hospitalised members. Celia also organises meals for those who are ill or recovering from surgery and she is also willing to provide the occasional transport when the need arises. The Elders care for the members in their districts by contacting them telephonically and will visit if requested to do so. For any further information please contact the Church Office.
Saints has an Outreach Project to the men on the street corners. Coupons are made available which entitles the bearer to one bag of groceries per month. The generosity of the members of the Congregation, either by a cash donation or in the form of groceries keeps this project running. “From His abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another.” John 1:16
